There isn't any particular secret as such in using it. But in making sure that it will bond a "floppy" sole back to a shoe or trainer you DO have to follow certain rules. These come in the form of instructions.
Sad the instructions, no leaflet, are only labelled on the box in small writing, and perhaps not easy to follow.
In the latest use, a pair of trainers from our 11 years old grandson, with one being half unstuck......
(see photos as I have uploaded with this review)
Lots of scrunched up paper are placed inside the problem trainer, to retain its shape.
Firstly the two sections, the sole and then the base of the trainer, are cleaned and ensured they are free from anything "flaky". Both halves are kept apart, in the photo you can see I used an old butter knife to do that.
An even coat of adhesive is applied to both halves and then left to be dry for around forty minutes or so. This is NOT the bonding layer but a layer of adhesive on two otherwise porous materials.
Then a coating of adhesive is again applied over the previous coat and this time it is left for around ten minutes. This has to be left until touch dry / slightly tacky.
(ventilated room needed as there are strong odours)
Then both halves of the trainer are brought together AND immediately held together under a LOT of pressure by using two clamps. Again take a look at the photos. This is VERY important, it is not about how long (to a point) you leave them after they have bonded but the amount of force pushing them together that influences how well these are going to stick.
Having stuffed paper inside the shoe / trainer helps it to retain its shape whilst being clamped. Sometimes I use another piece of wood on the top of the trainer rather than potentially deforming / scratching the upper if applicable. With trainers that doesn't matter.
The following day the footwear are fit to wear. So far it has worked well in repairing several shoes / trainers for different family member.
I do recommend this adhesive if the instructions applying it are followed.
I do hope that this review has helped you.

I ASKED 6 DIFFERENT PEOPLE TO TAKE IT FROM MY HOME AND TRY IT IN THEIR OWN HOMES.
i'M AFRAID ALL 6 PEOPLE CAME BACK TO ME WITH 6 DIFFERENT ITEMS THAT THEY HAD TRIED THIS STUFF ON AND THEY ALL STATED THE SAME THING.
99P GLUE THAT YOU BUY FROM A DISCOUNT STORE IS 100 PER CENT STRONGER SO IT IS DEFINITELY RUBBISH.
SORRY BUT I PREFER TO BE HONEST RATHER THAN HAVE PEOPLE BUYING THIS AND WASTING THEIR MONEY!!!!

I checked the instructions and my real nugget of advice is to make sure you get a very very firm pressure when setting the two surfaces together. I used clamps and had good seal in the first place. Since then, and for several months now, my daughter has been wearing the shoes without ANY coming away of the join.
You can do other things to make sure you get a good join - clean the surface, apply glue to both surfaces, use your best judgement to make there is enough - use a good clamp system to get maximum pressure across the entire bonding surfaces etc
