Having seen his friends settle down Carter hopes for a relationship of his own. Enter Lauren. They’ve both had a crush on each other for a while. However she is his newest employee and she she also comes with baggage - a stalker ex who wont take no for answer. Having an intimate relationship isn’t easy, especially when they decide to keep it a secret. At the end of the day they will discover that life is better with no secrets. At times I was frustrated with Carter and his insistence on keeping his relationship with Lauren a secret. I also felt a little let down by the conclusion of the stalker ex. This was a good read where not only have we caught up with old friends, we’ve got some new ones who I hope will get their own stories.

Lauren is fed up with being a waitress, but figures that she only in a slump and will get over it. It doesn't help that her ex comes in all the time, he has it in his head they are getting back together.
Carter and 2 of his buddies are starting a logging business and needs to hire a receptionist. As Carter has the hots for Lauren be talks her into taking the job.
When they finally get together Carter wants to keep it secret, but after a few months Lauren is sick of being in a secret relationship.
Then Lauren gets some news that she is terrified to tell Carter about.
A brilliantly written story with excellent characters and a happy ending guaranteed.

C IS FOR CARTER: A Secret Baby, Mountain Man Romance is Book #3 in (Men of ALPHAbet Mountain Series)! All the books are about a different couple, but the characters of the books are all connected, so I am reading all of them in order.

Carter Jamison has decided to return to Ashford, Tennessee after retiring from the military. He has an injured knee & leg, so the peaceful cabin on a mountain, sounded very much where he would like to live. He finds an old high school buddy in mountain man Brett Mooney & another buddy who also was ex-military & mountain man Aiden Beckett. To make his life better, his two good friends, that also had quit the military, had decided to move down by Carter. They all three were planning to start their own logging company. Life was good for Carter, accept he was lonely for a woman of his very own. Carter admitted to himself of being jealous of Aiden & Brett, who had found the loves of their lives. They had very quickly started having babies, too.

Carter had noticed the beautiful waitress Lauren who worked at Dina's Diner. He would show up there as often as he could. They flirted but he wouldn't take that next step. When he was at the Diner & her ex-boyfriend showed up to cause her trouble. It was then Carter offered her a job as a receptionist at the logging company. She was fast to accept. Lauren left her longtime job at Dina's Diner. Carter was still slow to make a move on Lauren. It was after the ex-boyfriend became more aggressive, when finally Carter did ask her out on a dinner date. Even then he wanted to keep their new, but hot relationship, a secret from everyone. Carter seemed to like having her secretly all to himself. It got old for Lauren and for the reader, too! It took for him seeing he might loose her that he finally claimed her loud & clear. Her ex-boyfriend learned in a very hard way, it wasn't smart to mess with an ex-military man's woman.

I was hooked for the first several hours of reading. However, I am extremely disappointed in how Black decided to wrap this up. Within one page, everything happens. There is no build up, no anticipation. Then, nothing is ever said about the antagonist again. So.. you have an ex boyfriend stalking you, your current gets in a fight with him, and that's it?
It's almost as if the author just said "meh.. I'm tired of writing this one." This was my first from the author, and will be my last.

C Is For Carter: A Secret Baby Mountain Man Romance (Men of Alphabet Mountain Book 3 ) by Natasha L. Black features another alpha mountain man that knows how to treat a woman, when to be a gentleman and when not to be too. At the same time, have moments of cluelessness. Carter and Lauren, long before they begin to date, have been smitten with each other but not realizing the both felt the same way. I enjoyed how these two danced around each other and then continued the secrecy dance after the official dating began. It’s all fun and games until keeping the secret is no longer fun.
The plot focuses almost exclusively on Carter and Lauren’s developing relationship with a bit of antagonism coming from Lauren’s ex-boyfriend. A true annoyance becomes harassment and stalker behavior causing both Lauren and Carter to take some action, however, in greatly differing ways and creating a bit of conflict between them.
Overall, Alphabet Mountain’s Cupid is at work again bringing Carter and Lauren together in a lasting, forever love cemented with their secret baby for a family-filled HEA.
