Mandy and Zane have been best friends since they were three years old however Mandy left Eagle’s Nest, Montana at 17 to start a life in New York and they didn’t part on good terms.
Skip ahead ten years an Mandy returns to her home town to convince her mother to return to New York with her and she reconnects with Zane…
The story doesn’t explain why Zane and Mandy ‘fell out’ all those years ago ( I might have missed it though) so it was a bit confusing. Zane was resistant to Mandy’s mom moving to NY and although he was having sex with Mandy it came across that he was more into her mother in parts. It also became annoying that Mandy seemed to think it was ok to pressure her mom into moving across the country and away from her close friends and work and wasn’t until the end of the book that she realised her mom belonged in Montana. Much of the time Mandy comes across as being quite selfish and a lot of her thoughts are about how situations affect her.
The novel was ok for a short, free story but didn’t rock my concert.
