DI Hillary Greene
An attractive woman in her forties, Hillary Greene is a police officer of many years’ experience, and came up through the ranks. Well written tales

Most of it has already been said. These are good tales with interesting characters. I am however left wondering how come HIllary can't afford somewhere to live with running water on a DI's salary. How does anybody else cope in the Oxford area? She can't be on minimum wage. What about all the constables and sergeants, and shop assistants and factory workers? A minor gripe but I did find it annoying.

Good stories, easy read, a bit repetitive as you read the series, keeps explaining the different people and how they live repeated in each book in the series, like as if you being taught a lesson, lest you forget who all the characters are and what they do. I suppose it is for anybody picking up a book out of the series, they can relate straight to the characters. None the less entertaining.

This boxset of the first five DI Hillary Greene novels came to my notice either via the daily deal or Bookbub. I'd recently read a couple of books in another genre where the main female character was older than in so many books these days. I realised how much I appreciated that. so decided to give these a punt. I did not expect to become addicted! I very much like the main character, but other characters in the books are well drawn, the stories are very good, and very enjoyable. As each one finishes I find I want to read the next. - and now I am on book 11!

I bought the first 5 books as a 99p deal - what a bargain! Probably the best female DI police procedural series I've read to date. Well described characters, stories that never flag, each one a first class read that I've been addicted to. Now absolutely hooked, I'll be buying the whole of the rest of the series.
