It works very well as it is, but as I explain below I have some ideas for improving my one.
MATERIALS:
It's made of thick fabric, padded in most areas. Feels like it would last.
It would be better if the back of the pouch had a harder material, so that it keeps the whole thing a little bit more rigid, and a smaller belt loop to keep it tighter and closer to you. Both of which will be very easy for me to fix myself with some hot glue and spare materials.
BELT LOOP:
The belt loop is HUGE and holds the tool pouch below the belt. I'm not sure if there's a specific advantage to that. It works fine but doesn't seem ideal to me.
The belt loop has no quick connection, but it's easy to find another solution for a quick release connection. You could use a big carabiner/clip to clip it to your belt, etc.
I will cut off the belt loop and reattach it so it's not hanging low and not oversized. But with the addition of a carabiner clip I can still easily hang it a bit lower if needed.
TOOL FIT:
The side compartments are good for keeping some larger tools like a hammer. But they are not ideal for things that can't slide in all the way, for example some pliers and screwdrivers that only fit in half way due to the shape of the tool have a bigger chance of falling out.
Some hammers with a larger handle might not fit.
Some screwdrivers that are thin might fall down, as there is no taper. This would be a 5 minute fix for me with a needle and thread, but so far it's working just fine as it is.
The front compartment is good for some not-too bulky 5m tape measures, but might be hard to get it out of there. Mine has a little lanyard so it's not a problem.
The main compartment is good for some larger tools, but won't close if the tool is too long. It fits my 8" Knipex bolt cutter well, but won't fit my Irwin 10" aviation snips.
The Stanley logo is perfect for clipping on some additional tools or pouches. I've clipped on a bit holder and the pouch for my SOG pliers using the belt clips on those items. They both have hard plastic belt clips, so the hold really well and don't move around much.
MISSING:
An additional little pocket to hold a pocket knife securely. Not a big problem, I always have pockets on my jeans.
A magnet to hold screws. I will be adding this myself using a hard drive magnet, some fabric and some hot glue. The hard drive magnet is a little heavy, but is made in a way that the magnetism only affects one direction. This is important so you don't end up with magnetized tools, which can be an issue. For example, pulling out staples with magnetized pliers is very annoying.
A bit holder. I might add one. Very easy with some elastic webbing and hot glue - or needle and thread if you have the patience.
An actual belt. This pouch is lightweight, but filled with tools it's actually pulling down quite a lot on your belt. So I think this would work best with a proper BIG thick belt that goes over your clothing and has a quick release buckle. I've not tried that yet though.
CONCLUSION:
This is not perfect, but for £6 it's lovely!
100% recommended.
