I have several of these bulbs in every room plenty of colours to choose from also different shades of white one good thing about these bulbs you dont need a to buy a hub for to work connects to youre home network the only problem I have had is getting it to connect which involves turning bulb on and off 5 times then connecting no problems at all

When it works this is brilliant.

We bought it for a stand-alone floor lamp, so this review doesn’t cover using it room/house-wide.

Essentially the colours and brightness etc are perfect, just what we wanted.

It’s a shame to have to use the app that comes with it as that requires an account to login. But it does work well.

The Apple HomeKit (to phone not home hub) doesn’t work so well. When it’s working it is fine but it often doesn’t connect so have to switch over to the LIFX app.

Glad we bought it and would buy again but hoping some of the small issues are fixed soon.

Easy to install and configure (if you have at least some tech skills). The app works well, and the illumination from these lamps is excellent. The colours are good and the white temperature can be finely controlled to suit your needs at the time.
You can also turn the lamps on/off remotely, so good to discourage intruders etc.

Do not waste money on any Lifx products; I have had 3 & they were good - but now they cannot be used as I dont have or want to buy Apple Homekit which now is needed to set them up in the Lifx app; there is also zero support available from Lifx. The community forums also say that even with Apple Homekit they can be a nightmare to set-up but I have no experience of that as I do not have Homekit.
Buy another brand or expect to be very disappointed

This looks to be a good LED bulb completely let down by the extremely poor ‘smart’ feature which is supposed to be one of its selling points. I have bought loads of cheap LED strip lights which connect to my home network, apps and Alexa without fault. This on the other hand only connects to Apple home but won’t connect to the Alexa app or even its own LIFX app. I can set the colour in the Apple Home app but can’t control it from Alexa or set a timer for it.
This is the most expensive bulb I’ve ever bought and is the least functional. Please don’t waste your money on this.

Nicely bright and capable of cycling through a huge range of colours. Much easier to set up than previous generations. Homekit and Alexa integration are great and work very well - the best way to use these lights in my opinion.

Great for use as a desk or side lamp, for a ceiling light I'd recommend the original size LIFX bulb which is brighter.

LIFX in my opinion are the best smart bulbs especially if you run HomeKit. One watch out, as with other WiFi based smart home products they run of one band on, your device that is setting it up and your home router will likely run of two. You will need to set the router to be single band or as I did set up the device out of range of the 5ghz band ( I used a table lamp in the garden) other than the initial faff the efficiency, range and lack of needing a bridge is brilliant. I only wish LIFX did more products

Really love the Lifx products and the mini is just as good as the standard bulb. They also seem to be getting even easier to setup which is great as I'd bought 5. I've had other ones for over 2 years (have pretty much filled the house now) and none have failed. Good app and easy enough to use. Sometimes not always easy to add new bulb to existing locations and takes a bit of fiddling.

Would definately recommend.

App is definitely not easy to install and it's not intuitive at all, but it works most of the time.
As for the light, I prefer a warmer kind and this one is more on the white side of any hue, even yellow or orange looks annoyingly bright (not as in lumens but mostly in perception).

Great product...when it works! Frustrating the number of times it just disappears off the network - it always comes back when you reset it, but still very frustrating when I ask Siri to turn it on / off and it just responds with ‘the light is not connected’...very hit n miss...

*EDIT* OK, so I’ve lived with this smart bulb for a little longer now and I’ve decided to return it - it’s just simply not fit for purpose with the never ending disconnections. I’ve tried all of the online help but to no avail. A quick search of the internet shows that this is a widespread issue...
