HEALTH RISK, DO NOT PURCHASE!!!
I bought this product because it is being sold under the brand 'Max Factor', a brand I've used for years. The tube is advertised as not having a security seal, so that should have set my alarm bells ringing. When the tube arrived, I was surprised by the foul odour, and the dryness of the contents. Ignoring the second alarm bell ringing, I applied a coat, which was hardly notable. Within an hour, my eyes became hot and itchy, so I removed everything from my lids and lashes. The following morning, I could hardly open my eyes, that stung like fury! A visit to my GP confirmed both eyes had been infected!!! It took two days of eye baths and drops every four hours, before the swelling had gone down enough before I could open my eyes!! Thankfully, the infection has cleared. However, my GP has been very concerned that I might have been left with scarring on my retina, and has referred me on. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE!!!

OK product but annoying plastic packaging

This certainly doesn't clump and goes on evenly but I wouldn't buy it again unless they do something about the packaging. There was an outer layer of packaging (plastic) which I suppose reassures people that it's unopened but really - in this day and age surely manufacturers can come up with something more planet-friendly? And then there's another plastic layer, which is meant to be left on, which is palm-tree patterned plastic - I suppose meant for attractiveness. It would be fine if it were paper or card or something harmless but.....another layer of plastic? Manufacturers - get with it, consider the planet, be a bit 21st century!

Looks cheap but works well

Positives - The mascara goes on nicely, lengthens my lashes and gives volume. It lasts all day and doesn’t run or smudge.
Negatives - The mascara packaging looks and feels cheap. Not what I’d expect from Max Factor. The plastic is matt black and doesn’t feel like it’s a well made, luxury item. The brand sticker looks cheap and looks like it’s not authentic
Summary - I’m not convinced this is truly Max Factor because it looks and feels so cheap but if this item is a copy, it works really well. For less than a fiver it’s worth the money

Warning not genuine allergic reaction. Please do not chance this product I have used this mascara for years brought from boots but brought both black and brown from this seller trusting it was genuine applied and within minutes my eyelids are swollen I have compared packaging and the manufacturer address is different cant contact seller direct about this so will take action through amazon photo shows genuine mascara on the left

I am prone to panda eyes. With a lot of mascaras, by the afternoon I am wiping residue from my bottom eyelashes. This stays put all day! I have short, fine, blonde eyelashes so I use mascara so my eyelashes can been seen. This does the job but I don’t think my eyelashes look particularly full or any different to other mascaras I have tried. Definitely not like false eyelashes!

I had bought a different max factor mascara on Amazon a few days before which arrived unsealed and with an awfully strong chemically smell. I repurchased this one (a different seller) but the exact same thing happened, it arrived unsealed and with a strong smell (almost like nail varnish remover). I've used this mascara for about 20 years and know it is scentless. It's scary - what is in this mascara?! Worried for anyone who's putting this near their eyes.

Ran in light rain - couldn't rely on the product.

Purchased for every day use. The product ran on the very first day. I had been walking outside for about 20 mins in light rain and when I checked myself in the mirror at home the product had ran. Black marks underneath both eyes. Not recommended. I wont purchase again. Very disappointing. Also I didn't get the long lash effect the product referred to. On the whole, it was inadequate.

I actually love this mascara. I have really short lashes and it really lengthens them and it's nice and black. My only complaint is that I have oily skin and when I put it on my bottom lashes is always ends up on my skin. Basically my eyelashes touch my skin so it's not the mascara's fault

I've been looking for a thick mascara for a long time and have never found one. I am so happy with this one. It does exactly
what it says. I put two coats on and was unexpectedly surprised by the thick effect it had with no clogging of the eyelashes.I have very sensitive eyes and had no problems at all. I am so happy with this mascara I'm going to order another one just incase it goes out of stock. Thankyou. A happy customer.

Significantly cheaper purchased here than in the store. Arrived quickly. Overall a good quality mascara, really separates lashes and makes them appear longer. Can get clumpy after a couple months. Packaging is slightly annoying to remove and it comes with a security tag (it went off once when I was shopping and had it in my bag so make sure you remove the tag carefully).
