Will it be only a moment out of time or just the beginning of a life long experience…
I had a bit of a fear when I began this story, royals are not my cup of tea. But as I have read the series since its beginning, I could not pass by this third installment.
And luckily for me, it was not what I would have expected as a royalty romance. The heroine might be a princess, but she does not look down at people nor she thinks herself as better. Better, she is a rebel in the soul, she wants more from life than luxury and beautiful gowns. She longs for adventure and real relationships.
Samuel was the investigator in the two previous books, a man so broken he left his position in society to rebuilt himself. He bows to no one, following now his new path, until a princess literally stumbled onto him.
They were fun together, Alexandra has finally the escape she has awaited for so long. Sure, she takes risks especially for a sheltered lady, yet she is not a miss prone to vapors, she stands her ground. Sam is the one holding back, yet it is not an adventure for him but his daily life with job on the line. Yet he is not blind and is able to acknowledge Alexandra is more than her title, she is clever, witty and no simpering spoiled lady.
Still it won’t erase their differences as a mere mister and a woman with royal blood, will the damaged investigator find enough strength to fight himself and for her.
A entertaining action packed continuation in this series.
