I expected great things from this book but have been sorely disappointed time and time again. I tried the sour Cherry shrub.I ended up with a melted mass of sugar in the bottom of the bowl, undisolved, tasting of syrup not cherries, colourless and tasteless. Most end up tasteless and tasting of pure apple cider vinegar. Awful. The book is a disappointment at best. Save your cash and buy Dry by Clare Liardet. Now there’s a woman who knows how to make great cordials any of which beat the ones in this book hands down and by a mile.
