I knew this would be a relatively very small jar, the ad clearly refers to the size. I've an excessive number of the finest shaving creams and soaps but this would rank very low in terms of re-purchase intention. For a lower price you;ll find better creams twice the size.The fragrance is like one of those green veggie shakes that you think should be good for you but you don't really like the taste of.

A stiff fatty but effective and menthol-free brushless shave cream

From my point of view, the best characteristics of this cream are that it is almost odourless, free from menthol, and is supportive of the shaving action. It has about the consistency of lard, feels very fatty and the surface exposed to the air quickly develops a tough skin. I would describe it as a paste rather than a cream. Only a small amount needs to be applied to support smooth shaving so it represents good value for money. Also, being stiff. there is no risk of it dripping from the razor. Being free from menthol there is no stinging or cooling effect on the skin. It has a very slight but not unpleasant fatty smell (hardly a fragrance). Washing off afterwards requires more soap than usually expected.

This might be good for your skin but it's no good for the planet as it's made in the USA.

It's also very oily and doesn't clearly show when rubbed into stubble, so unlike the white lather you get from other creams and foams it's not always clear where you need to add more cream.

For the size it's also very expensive, and although it technically works, I'm not a fan.

Smoothest shave

I have really thick facial hair and I generally keep a beard but i do shave the top bit of my face and the neck area. Usually what you find with shaving form is they cover up so much area that you cant shave to keep the beard line that is there as its too hard to see and even when you do shave with them you have to go a couple times atleast to get all the hair. Not with this though light enough to see where you're shaving and it makes the hair soft enough to go on one take.

I rarely give feedback or reviews because I’m a tad lazy in that respect. However, this product is so good that I wanted to tell people about it. I hate the soapy taste you get from shaving soap or foam. Apart from the horrible taste, if you can taste it then that means you’ll be ingesting dodgy chemicals.
This amazing natural and organic product has a slight peppermint taste – no bother there. And of course the other main reason that prompted me to review is that the shave itself is incredibly smooth, and I mean SMOOTH. Fantastic product so if you want a natural product and a lovely silky smooth shave – this is the one to buy, it really is that good.

Like a number of reviewers I have tried multiple shaving products over the years and what suits one person may not suit another. However I like this bracknell shave cream a lot and it suits my very dry skin. I'll certainly be sticking with it for the foreseeable future. I tend to use a small amount onto damp almost dry skin / beard, add a rather cheaper shave cream (KOS) on top and then add water to the face and cream to bring it to life. Shaving afterwards is a dream, no irritation or blotchiness. This sound like a lot of faffing around but it really isn't.
I've not tried the scented version due to sensitive skin, but other bracknell products smell good (lemon grass). I travel quite a bit and have noticed that performance suffers slightly in hard water areas, but still very good - just not quite as good soft water. Give it a go.

Very small but a very good product

Initially I was shocked at how small this pot was as actually gave it no thought whatsoever but have used on my head & cheeks (bald head & beard) & genuinely seem to be getting a much closer & smoother shave! I wet my head & cheeks before applying a very small amount to my head & then I use a shaving brush to get everywhere I need to - including cheeks & shave off (I also use a 6” steel ruler on my cheeks to get a lovely sharp line!)

Not 100% if I’ll buy again but only as I want to try others ‘just because’ - that said though would (very) happily come back to this if my onward searches prove unsuccessful...

I realise this is for men but I was desperately looking for an organic shaving cream without any harmful chemicals and so thought I would try it for underarm shaving. The product itself is brilliant and I have nearly finished the pot but unfortunately the pot is made of plastic so I will not be buying again. I didn’t realise this when I made the purchase. Please please consider making this product in a glass container and you will have a customer for life!

After using other Brickell products I decided to put my brush set up away and give this a go. No going back for me. easy to use and shaves are smooth. I am a baldy and proud of it so also use on head. Good quality product and you don't need much. Give it a go.

Used this product having used canned shaving foam for most of my life. I was a bit dubious due to what I thought was an expensive item. However I had read good reviews and thought I would give it a go.

I wouldn't say I have overly sensitive skin, but I had always suffered from some shaving rash on my neck when using canned creams. After using this product I was genuinely surprised at having no rash what so ever. I would defiantly use this product again but am currently experimenting with a shaving brush and shaving soap. I don't think Brickell do a shaving soap, but if they did I would definately try it on the back of this product.
