firstly i am a proffesional model maker. i bought this for several reasons, 1- to rip sheets of 6mm mdf to managable size before i use them on my proxxon 230 saw table. 2nd- to use as a fret/scroll saw for some of the odd shapes i require ocasionally.and lastly i could see the potential for easily modifying this table for use as a small router table. with regards to my 1st point, it is superb,and extremely accurate if you take the time to set it up carefully.i use my bosh jigsaw in this and it fits perfectly,and there are marks on the underside of the table which helps you to align the base of your saw to the table. so top marks for that. my 2nd point. using as a free hand scroll saw is very good,although if you are new to this type of work then you will need practice. let the blade do the work,and don't try to force it or rush and the results are very good. now the modification. i have bought a hand trimmer for this purpose. (mail me for the model type) which cost £39.95 on amazon. by simply creating a circular hole in the wolf work table for the router cutter to operate through,and making a very simple timber fence,it is a very capable spindle moulder/router table,which can also be used as a bobbin sander. the router base simply clamps in using the same mounting brackets as for the jigsaw.i would say that it is the best money i have spent in a long while. the table comes with a 5 yr guarentee,although i should think it is good for twenty five as it is heavy duty steel. also the clamps supplied can be used seperately when you are not using the table,so you effectively get a pair of very strong bench clamps for your money as well. do yourself a favour,and just buy one. added a few pics of a model i cut out using this, and showing mounting etc. also as there is no guard for the blade,i simply put a plastic cup over the blade when not in use.more to remind me it is there,than for actual protction. but it does the job...

I had high Hope's for this, as a way of doing free hand scrolling work. Unfortunately though, it was terrible! I could see the jigsaw blade wobbling then settling down, so once it was straight I started a cut but couldn't make a decent curve. I tried again on another part of the wood and then got a massive Kick-back which took the wood out of my hands and shocked me.
This ended with the blade bent and Mark's at the edge of the cutting hole. I tried a different blade and made sure everything was clamped as tight as it could be, but it wasn't any better sadly.

I couldn't tell if it was an issue with my jigsaw, the Wolfcraft table or a combination of the two, and as I didn't have the money to go out and replace my jigsaw on the day to test it, I returned it for now.

If I buy a new jigsaw at some point I may be tempted to try again, as there was a lot of vibration from my saw; enough to shake the moveable fence loose.

Unfortunately this doesn't seem safe enough for just any saw, but maybe a brand new one with low vibrations might do better.
Dissatisfied. Returned.

OK for a jigsaw, but much better for a router

I already have a jigsaw by Newtechnic (available on Amazon, but orders of magnitude cheaper direct) that also has an overhead blade guide meaning that the blade stays straight (this one doesn't and many reviewers have noted the blade wandering). I didn't buy this for a jigsaw, but to mount a small 6mm router and use as a routing table.

In this role it excels as it take up very little wall space when not in use, but the guides and the table provide a solid base for working accurately. The only alterations that I have done are to enlarge the hole in the steel bed of this (progressive hole saw in a drill press) to 40mm diameter to allow all router cutters to work and I have screwed a wooden front to the fence with a semi-circle out of it to allow me to bring the fence close enough without it impinging on the cutter.

My router already had a spare base and this I had mounted on thin mild steel (I see another reviewer has done similar with what looks half inch ply) and this is on the fittings designed for the jigsaw.

Maybe Wolfcraft could consider this as a new product as there seems to be a common need for a small router table that can be easily stored in the workshop???

On that basis, as a jigsaw table, I would give this only three stars as the Nuetechnic one is vastly superior (albeit at about twice the price of this one), but as a router table, four, if not five stars. So, averaging out, four stars it is.

I hope this inspires you if, like me, you'd really wanted a router table.

Poor Manufacturing Quality & Design Issues

All of the slots in the one I received were about a half mm too narrow to take the supplied bolts that hold the fence in place. I had to drill them all out. Also, the holes for all the other bolts were not quite punched deep enough, so required the bolts to be tightened a lot to get the heads to sit flush with the top.
Now for the design issue: the jigsaw is held in place by tightening down four wingnuts. The slightest bit of vibration causes them to untighten themselves. As this is likely to happen whilst you are using it , you need to be careful and regularly check tightness. The wingnuts need some sort of locking device or anti-vibration washer to help prevent this. These could have been included for pennies on the price.

L'attrezzo di per se vale quanto speso ma va bene per tagliare legni sottili e per tagli diritti.
Quando bisogna curvare diventa pericoloso la lama si impunta e comincia a vibrare col rischio di rompere il pezzo o farsi male, non è per niente sicuro come metodo di lavoro. La pericolosità sta nel fatto che per tenere giù il pezzo, ben aderente al ripiano, per evitare che la lama lo spinga in su facendolo vibrare, bisogna spingere molto il pezzo in basso e bisogna farlo molto vicino alla lama.
Quando usi il seghetto nel modo normale spingi col peso del corpo sull'impugnatura ,tagli il pezzo e fai le curve in tutta sicurezza. Ora il seghetto funziona al contrario e il contrario di sicuro è....forse pericoloso?
